bragging rights...

Just want to brag on the kiddo for a moment.

Yesterday was Ash Wednesday. Hannah was asked to participate in the evening service. She opened up the service texting on stage while others were on their phone and talking (ignoring God) and the skit followed. Then she stayed at the pulpit with an elder and read Psalm 62 for the bible lesson.

SHE ROCKED.

She did an unbelievable job. Read it slowly, distinctly and with feeling. In front of about 200 people. I think she did better than the elder. :)

We were very proud of her and quite a few members of the congregation came up to us later and commented on what a great job she did.

Okay, bragging over.
And no pictures...I am not brave enough to take the camera to church. Yet.

what we did this weekend....

Other than spending the day Saturday at a Red Cross babysitters class, I spent the weekend emptying out the craft room to turn it into our exercise room.

See, we took the exercise room and turned it into bedroom #4. Then decided the exercise equipment would be better off in a room than in the open basement. So the scrap, craft and sewing supplies came out and the treadmill went in.

BEFORE - now I thought i had a more current photo of the room. Keep in mind there was another wood bookcase on the wall, a sewing machine to the left and 2 large cabinets with shelves on either side of the double doors. Oh yeah, and it was filthy and overwhelmingly cluttered. And I am not sure you could actually see the chair there, it was covered in fabric.

But eventually it will all go here....right now I am purging, tossing, donating, selling and bascially getting pared down to stuff I actually use.

Finished this up on Wed. night. Phew, it was a toughie!

from the last week...

a long night..

We had a middle school youth lock in at church last night.

I was a chaperone.

About midnight things started getting out of control....

Then we fed them some more pizza and it got better...

Finally at 3am it was lights out.
And at 7am I was up cooking breakfast.
A long night.

snow day #2....

Today there was a smattering of snow on the ground. And the roads were slick. And it is pretty darn cold out there.

I was the big winner with 3 of the 4 quarters and won $8!!!!!!!

and the bed goes where...

We bought a new double bed this weekend. Planned on putting it in the basement, turning the exercise room into the 4th bedroom.

After buying the bed, we figured, why put the bed in the basement where it will never get used and hannah wants it anyway. So.... instead of just putting the bed in the basement as planned we...

emptied out the exercise room
took down H's queen bed and moved it to the exercise room
set up the double bed in H's room
moved her computer desk out to the loft

and we still need to empty the craft room, move the exercise equipment in there and set up the craft area in the basement common area.

And since I had not planned on actually using the bed, i did not have a double mattress pad, bed skirt or sheets on hand. But we made do.
