self portrait challenge

Took this photo while walking around Charlotte with the family in december.
Had a self portrait challenge on my photo board - decided this would do...

yesterday I started out with this.....

then Hannah did this....

and we met up with....

...for lunch and a movie....

and it was a fantastic day because of this.....

Jan 12 - a day at the farm

Well, I finally made it out to my friend Holly's parents farm!!
It was a cold morning and the blustery wind made it worse.
Holly very kindly let me walk around scouring for my letters - but we did find a few other things to shoot too!
Holly's dad was real cute - he pointed out a B he wanted me to find!

Hannah had a sore throat on Wed and Thurs. Friday woke up feeling terrible and stayed home from school. Saturday was spent in front of the tv.....

early morning 01.07.2010 ....

I bundled up first thing in the morning , before the sun had actually crested the island,to go out and try to take some shots that looked COLD.

I guess it was not really cold enough her to get COLD. No frozen water. No ducks huddled on the shore. No snow. Nothing.

But I did love how the lake looked.

It was full of birds, all over the surface of the lake.

And in the sky.

And the reflections were just so cool looking.

And the lake had a nice pink glow....

While my parents were in town we went into Charlotte to stroll the streets. And freeze.

Oh wait, I do have some photos...


Back to the story..

So we popped into the Rockbottom Brewery for lunch. Mom had fish tacos and they looked so good, I knew I was going to have to make some. They had a blue corn tortilla innner shell that crunched and a soft flour out shell to keep them all together. Oh YUM!

I surfed the net and found these:

They rocked! Three thumbs up from Hannah, Chris and myself. I did change some of the ingredients like I used less hot sauce and added more spices as a rub on the fish, but they were pretty darned good.

So go make some.

and how did 2010 get here so fast...
