now this makes me smile....

Does this look like progress...

Well it is. There may be piles but all the cork is now laid, waiting to dry for final sealant. Getting so...close. And hopefully the appliances can return to the kitchen.

the laying of the cork...

Older pictures of Chris laying the cork floor - from early February. I will post pictures of it completed later. Right now, he has laid about 75% of it down, sealed it and is waiting for the sealant to cure so we (uh, make that he) can move the furniture back on it thus opening up the area left to lay.
Getting so close!

spring ball....

No pictures of the dancing but here they are ready to head out to the spring ball...

Hannah had a good time and Chris went for the last 45 minutes to dance with her. He said it was so crowded that they really didn't dance, just shuffle and bounce off other dancers.

But she looked so nice and pretty.

Not sure if we will do cotillion again next year - it was rather pricey for what she got from it.

Saturday's to do list....
1. go to hannah's last basketball game (lost it, bummer)
2. clean out fridge, wash shelves
3. make Chris a coconut cream pie
4. seal cork in basement (well, supervise)
5. go for a walk/loosen up the back - it is nice out today
6. take a nap.

All done but the nap.

at the grocery store....

I was shopping for groceries Monday and the produce man came up to me and asked:
"Have you been out of town?"
Why, yes I have I replied.
"Thought so. I haven't seen you around lately."

Kinda like my blog.....haven't been around much. But I wanted to hang with my mom and dad for a few days and now I am busy catching up. Add to that, I am having a hard time sitting (back problems) and the ol' blog is being neglected.

I will get back to it soon.

On a sad note...Chris' good friend Keith M lost his 23 year old son this past weekend. Went to bed and never woke up. So Chris is off to the viewing tonight and we will both go to Charlotte for the funeral Thursday. Our hearts are so heavy right now....

Ate too much.
Now, back to reality.
Car pooling this am, basketball practice tonight.
Taking my mom to the new orchid conservatory in Belmont.

randoms....

• It is finally warming up here. Around 50 which is a little below normal. But we are glad to have it back!

• Tiger got beat up by a squirrel on Friday. But he won, since we found the dead squirrel at the back door. Still, he seemed tramatized and he spent all day Saturday in the garage and would not come out of his bed, even to eat. Wimp.

• I need new tires on my car....seems like it was just 30,000 miles ago that I got new ones. Wait, it was.

• We discovered that when we head to Disney in June it will be in the middle of "gay days". Not sure if we really want to get in the middle of that. Maybe Sea World will be better?

• Hannah has basketball on Saturday at 1:30 then Cotillion at 4. It will be a run around day for sure! Game, shower, dance. Chris has to go for the last 1/2 hour and learn her dances with her. Think I can sneak a camera in??

• We have a 3' by 20' layer of cork on the basement floor. Now only about 33 more to go.

• Think I've made a decision on a new washer and dryer? Nope. But close. But I guess new tires come first in line.

That about sums it up!
